Statutory Rape & Child Molestation in Colorado
- Sexual Assault: person engages in sexual intrusion or penetration with person less than 15 where defendant is at least 4 years older than victim (Class 4 felony); or, victim is 15 or 16 years old and the defendant is 10+ years older than victim (Class 1 misdomeanor.)
- Sexual Assault on a Child: person has any sexual contact with a person under 15 years of age and defendant is at least 4 years older than victim. (class 4 felony)
- Sexual Assault on a Child by Person in Position of Trust: person has any sexual contact with a person under 18 years of age and defendant is in a position of trust as to the victim. (Class 4 felony) Enhanced to class 3 felony where victim is under 15.
