Juvenile Court Jurisdiction
Generally, Juvenile Court has jurisdiction over persons currently less than 21 years old and less than 18 years old when alleged crime was committed.
No Juvenile Court jurisdiction over juvenile 16+ and charged with murder, first degree sexual abuse, first degree burglary, armed robbery, or assault with intent to commit any such offense.
Prosecutor may move to transfer case of any juvenile where:
- Juvenile is 15+ and charged with a felony.
- Juvenile 16+ and is already under commitment as delinquent.
- Juvenile is 18+ and is alleged to have committed a crime prior to turning 18.
- Any Juvenile is charged with an offense listed in 16-2307 (a)(4)
