Juvenile Court Jurisdiction
Generally, Jurisdiction over persons under 21 who are alleged to have committed a crime when under 17.
No juvenile court jurisdiction where:
Court may transfer case to adult court:
- Juvenile is 15+ and charged with crime listed in 5-130 (1)(a), (2)(a) and (3)(a).
- Juvenile 13+ and charged with crime listed in 5-130 (4)(a).
- Any juvenile charged with crime listed in 5-130 (5)(a).
- Any juvenile previously placed under jurisdiction of adult court.
- Mandatory transfer of juvenile 15+ at time of offense accused of felony listed in 5-805 (1)(a), (b), (c) or (d).
- Presumptive transfer of juvenile 15+ at time of offense accused of a felony listed in 5-805 (2)(a).
- Discretionary transfer of juvenile 13+ at time of offense accused of a felony listed in 5-805 (3)(a) (attached).
