Statutory Rape & Child Molestation in Iowa

709.2 Sexual Abuse in first degree Any person who engages in a sex act with a person under 14 years of age and in doing causes a serious injury. (Class A felony)
709.3 Sexual Abuse in second degree Any person who engages in a sex act with a person under 12 years of age. (Class B felony)
709.4 Sexual Abuse in third degree Any person who engages in a sex act with a person 12 or 13; or, with a person 14 or 15 years of age and where defendant is a member of the same household as the victim, or related to the victim, or holds a position of authority related to victim, or is 4+ years older than victim. (Class C felony)
709.8 Lascivious Act with a Child Any person 16+ who lewdly touches or is lewdly touched by a person under 14 years of age. (Class C felony)
709.12 Indecent Contact with a Child Any person 18+ who lewdly touches or is lewdly touched by a person under 14 years of age; or where defendant is 16 or 17 and 5 years older than victim. (Aggravated Misdemeanor)
709.14 Lascivious Conduct with a minor Any person 18+ who forces or persuades a person under 14 years of age to undress where defendant is in a position of authority related to victim. (Serious misdemeanor)
