The Cochran Firm Separates Its Criminal Defense Practice

AP: Wednesday May 31, 3:52 pm ET

LOS ANGELES, May 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Since the death of its founding partner, Johnnie L. Cochran last year, The Cochran Law Firm has continued its legal practice in both civil and criminal courts. Currently one of the largest law firms in the nation, The Cochran Firm has recently decided to modify the structure of the law firm's criminal defense section.

The Firm's partners have decided to separate certain portions of its criminal practice. The firm's new criminal defense structure is intended to reduce the type of criminal defense cases the firm handles. The Cochran Firm's civil practice as created by Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. will continue to serve clients in 19 regional offices in 14 states.

As of June 1st 2006, The Cochran Firm Criminal Defense Section will separate and a large portion of the firm's criminal defense attorneys will become the law firm of Imhoff and Associates. Imhoff and Associates will be managed by attorney Vince Imhoff, serving clients from coast to coast.

Vince Imhoff continues to express his respect for the late Johnnie Cochran saying, "I have devoted the entirety of my legal profession to helping individuals charged with crimes, enabling them to achieve justice in the legal system. I will continue to commit myself and Imhoff & Associates attorneys to upholding my personal vision of expert legal service defense strategies, and treating criminal defendants with both dignity and respect."

Keith Givens, a senior partner of The Cochran Firm, commented that "it has been a pleasure working with Vince as a partner and we look forward to following the success of Imhoff and Associates in the future."
