A Baltimore police officer who was driving his personal car and wearing civilian clothes, cut off another driver. After words were exchanged both men pulled over to confront each other. This is where the scene escalated to a new level of trouble.

The police officer shot the other driver in the leg claiming the driver approached him in an aggressive fashion. The other driver was charged with second degree assault and sentenced to 2 years of probation.

The other driver got himself an attorney to investigate filing a lawsuit against the officer for excessive use of force. The lawyer examined evidence from the police department’s files and found that other witnesses stated that the other driver had his hands in the air when he was shot. His lawyer file a motion for a new trial stating that the police and prosecutors did not disclose the witnesses interviews. The prosecution dismissed the charges against the other driver and that driver then filed a lawsuit against the city of Baltimore and police department and the case was settled for $204,900 in favor of the other driver.
